A Tulsa foundation plans a major donation to support the Vision 2025 plan.
At least part of the money will go to the over budget of the BOK Center. The money will come from the Kaiser Family Foundation. The charity was created by George Kaiser, Tulsa's richest resident.
The amount of the planned donation has not been disclosed but will be announced Tuesday. Tulsa County Commissioner Randi Miller: “the Kaiser Foundation is always involved in the community and they always step up to the plate when funds are needed and what you will hear Tuesday will be something very exciting for the city of Tulsa and Tulsa County.â€
Kaiser's "Bank of Oklahoma" bought the naming rights to the arena for $11-million.
Before the Vision 2025 vote, the foundation expressed an interest in funding projects along the river, and has since donated millions of dollars to the University of Oklahoma.
