Tulsa emergency crews working an overnight accident are attacked by bees. It happened in the 2200 block of East 21st, just before midnight.
Emergency crews needed backup after a swarm of bees attacked them and invaded an ambulance. It started after a driver apparently lost control of his car. He plowed through several lawns, ran through some bushes and smashed a front porch wall flipping the vehicle on its side. In the process, he hit a bee hive.
Rescue workers arrived and started pulling the driver out of his vehicle. That's when the bees started stinging emergency crews and disrupting the rescue.
Tulsa Police officer Frank Thompson: "from what I heard, a second ambulance did have to be called in because the first ambulance was filled with bees and that's when the victim was transported to the hospital."
The accident didn't damage the house, but the bees did sting several workers. We're told they'll be fine.
The victim’s injuries didn't appear to be life threatening.
