OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A study for the state Health Department says more than one-third of Oklahoma women who recently had a baby did not intend to get pregnant.
The study released Thursday says 37 percent of the pregnancies were not intentional and that 64 percent of the accidental pregnancies were paid for by Medicaid.
It also found that 64 percent of the unintended pregnancies were among teenagers.
Public health officials say the study shows the need for more health services programs and better access to contraceptives for teenagers, especially teens in low-income areas.
