OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma company that plans to run commercial flights to suborbital space in 2008 has agreed to take a motivational speaker and an airline pilot aloft so they can have an out-of-this-world wedding.
Oklahoma City-based Rocketplane Kistler has started production on a craft using a Lear Jet fuselage that it plans to fly 62 miles above the earth after takeoff from Burns Flat in western Oklahoma.
Author and motivational speaker Cindy Cashman says the idea of getting married in space occurred to her while meditating at her home in Austin, Texas.
Cashman's fiance is Mitch Walling, a pilot with American Ealge airlines who agreed to the idea.
So far, the wedding has a price tag of about 500-thousand dollars, the cost of getting the bride and groom into space.
