City of Tulsa crews spent Thursday morning demolishing an east Tulsa home. The owner kept building-on to the property without permits, said City of Tulsa officials.

According to News On 6 reporter Omar Villafranca, Dan Tucker owns what started as a small home at 7116 East 7th Street. Tucker began building on to the property even though the city told him to stop.

The structure eventually became a three story house which filled up the property. But City of Tulsa officials said Mr. Tucker's mansion violated several stormwater and building codes.

The home on East 7th Street was a landmark to some but an eyesore for several residents. City officials had the final say and declared the home a public nuisance. Residents in the area have complained about the home for years. Some actually planned a small celebration marking it's destruction.

Neighbors are used to hearing hammering and construction on the home but at 7:30AM Thursday, the demolition crews went to work and the house came tumbling down.

The News On 6 tried to talk to the owner in the past, Mr. Tucker, but didn't get any response.
