OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A new national report shows Oklahoma colleges rank second in the nation for affordability of a public four-year college.
The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education released information today on the March report from the nonprofit Educational Policy Institute.
The ranking is based on the evaluation of education costs including tuition, fees, books, room and board and funding support.
The report states that during the last three years the total amount of financial aid has increased by 50% or $293 million.
Student loans also increased 65% during that period.
State lawmakers recently increased funding to the state's higher education system by $131 million.
