OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City police continue their investigation into an officer-involved shooting.
Police Captain Jeffrey Becker says the shooting happened Monday afternoon in the northwestern part of the city as officers investigated a tip that a wanted man was at a residence.
He says officer Kris Hunter checked the back of the residence and saw a male suspect leaving and holding a handgun. Police say Hunter told the man to drop the gun, but the man pointed it at the officer, and Hunter fired his weapon once.
Police identified the man who was shot as 21-year-old Antonio Walker, who was not the target of the warrant. He was taken to OU Medical Center and will be charged with pointing a firearm.
Officers interviewed four other men at the residence and released the men.
Hunter has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending an investigation.
