The Red Cross needs Tulsans to help the dwindling blood supply at their holiday weekend blood drive.
Severe weather on the east coast has created a shortage across the nation. With the holiday weekend, the need is expected to rise.
Jan Hale with the American Red Cross: "the usage of blood is going to probably increase, because we've got more people on the highways, we've got more people at the lake, more people doing all those outside activities."
The blood drive continues at both Tulsa Red Cross locations Monday and Tuesday.
All donors receive a T-shirt, free food and a chance to win lots of great prizes, including $1,500 worth of free gas.
