OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The highways and airports are expected to be crowded with a record number of travelers this Fourth of July holiday.

AAA Oklahoma is estimating 488,000 Oklahomans will travel 50 miles or more during for the holiday with 434,000 going by car and 54,000 expected to fly.

Those travelers will find prices are up this year. AAA says gas prices in Oklahoma are nearly $2.69 a gallon for self-serve regular.

That's 59 cents per gallon more than a year ago, but is second-lowest in the nation behind South Carolina.

And airline tickets are up an average 7 percent over last year while car rental rates are 5 percent higher.
