INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Three athletes who competed in spring sports for Oklahoma universities are among 58 men and women who are awarded $7,500 postgraduate scholarships by the NCAA.
The Oklahoma athletes who received the scholarships Tuesday were Thomas Garrison, a tennis player for Oklahoma; Zachary Robinson, a golfer for Oklahoma State; and Allison Toomer, a golfer at Division Two Northeastern State of Tahlequah.
To qualify for the postgraduate scholarship, the student-athlete must have a grade-point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, performed with distinction in his or her sport and intend to continue academic work after receiving a bachelor's degree.
