Broken Arrow residents are making sure flash flooding, like what happened on May 4th, doesn't happen again.

The Citizens Flooding Action Committee met for the first time Tuesday. It's made up of people who live in flooded neighborhoods and Broken Arrow city staff. They're dealing with the aftermath of last month's flooding. Plus they will also come up with long term solutions to make sure the destruction and damage it caused doesn't happen again.

Broken Arrow’s storm water director Jeff Bigby: "Get information to the homeowners in the areas that did have the flooding to let them know what the city is doing behind the scenes and long term. Kinda flood plain and storm water issues that affect areas all over town."

The group was formed at the request of the Broken Arrow City Council.
