OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that about 18 percent fewer people died as a result of traffic accidents this May than did in the same month last year.
A total of 60 people were killed in crashes on Oklahoma roads last month. That's down from 73 deaths last month.
Still, Oklahoma remains ahead of last year's pace.
There were 304 people who died in traffic accidents at this point last year. There are already 319 so far this year.
