OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Despite a round of storms that dropped rain on most of the state over the weekend, a fire weather watch has been issued for a portion of Oklahoma.
The National Weather Service office in Tulsa issued the watch for Monday for the western portion of the Oklahoma Panhandle.
Some portions of the Panhandle did not report any rainfall Saturday, when the storms dropped more than two inches of rain in other parts of the state.
Grass fires have plagued Oklahoma in recent months.
Since November 1st, grass fires in Oklahoma have scorched an estimated 560,000 acres, damaged or destroyed more than 1,000 homes and businesses and killed at least three people, including a volunteer firefighter.
