A vandal hit a North Tulsa church for the second time in a week, this time stripping out an electrical panel that left the church dark this morning.

The break-in was another frustration for people at the church which has been hit before. The Living Sanctuary church is a small and humble place to start with, but someone has broken in the last two Saturday nights and taken what little they had. Someone smashed in a window and took the sound system, some lights and even Bibles.

The damage forced the small congregation outside this morning, because the air conditioners were stolen too. Most of the elderly congregation, from a nursing home, was told to stay home so they could stay out of the heat. The rest had services underneath a hackberry tree.

Rev Jennettie Marshall, Living Sanctuary: "I encouraged them to gather together at the nursing center and be in prayer while we are here and touch and agree that we're going to get past this."

The church doesn't have the money for repairs to the electrical system and they're not sure what they'll do next week. They might have services under that tree again. Emory Bryan, the News on Six.
