PSO crews have been working around the clock to get power restored to Tulsa homes and businesses.
Crews say that a typical Oklahoma thunderstorm affects about 40 power poles and Tuesday's storm was quadruple that. At last check about 2,300 people were still in the dark, that's down from more than 12,000 Tuesday morning.
Steve Baker with PSO: "The strength of the wind was so great that especially these transmutation poles here along Harvard, that when they fell, they snapped a lot of distribution poles that were below them, but certainly the trees contributed to the problem we're got here."
PSO plans to have almost everyone's power restored by Wednesday evening.
