OSU third, OU seventh in NCAA golf

SUNRIVER, Ore. (AP) _ Top-seeded Oklahoma State is tied for third and Oklahoma is tied for seventh after the first round of the NCAA men's golf championship tournament in Sunriver, Oregon.

The Cowboys shot a 7-under to tie with Washington. Wake Forest is in first at 11-under 277, followed by UCLA at 8-under 280.

OU shot a 4-under, 284 and is tied with Florida and North Carolina State.

OSU's Pable Martin is tied for second in the race for medalist after shooting a 6-under, 66.

The nation's top 30 men's Division One golf teams and six individuals whose teams didn't qualify are in the field of 156 players participating in the four-day tournament.
