This is National Workzone Awareness week and the Oklahoma theme for the program is "Your roads are in our hands, our lives are in yours."

The folks who work on the highways say safety is a two-way street. Eric Strong with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority: "What I want to do is appeal to the public to be responsible and be aware of our workzones. We'll do what we can to put up traffic control and ensure the safety of our workers and ensure that traffic flows safely and smoothly on the other side of that workzone."

Governor Brad Henry signed a proclamation declaring this "Work Zone Awareness Week" in Oklahoma, to further emphasize the need for driving safely in construction zones.
