Parts of Oklahoma will see a risk of severe weather this evening as an intense storm system moves through the region.
The National Weather Service says there will be a moderate risk of severe thunderstorms in western counties of the state and a slight risk east of that area.
A warm front located over southern Oklahoma this morning is expected to lift northward today as an upper level storm system approaches from the west.
Forecasters say the most likely time for thunderstorms will be from 4 p-m this evening through the early-morning hours, with the possibility of baseball-sized hail and damaging winds.
Tornadoes also will be possible, especially across northwest and west central oklahoma. The severe weather threat will shift to central and eastern Oklahoma during the evening and overnight hours.
