Police Officer Arrested After Domestic Dispute

A police officer finds himself on the wrong side of the law. Wagoner County Sheriff's deputies arrested Broken Arrow police officer Steve Smith Tuesday night. He faces a domestic abuse charges for allegedly shoving his wife.

Sheriff's deputies say Smith admitted he shoved his wife, causing her to hit her face on a bar stool. Smith told Wagoner County Sheriff's deputies that he shoved his wife after she slapped him and kicked him in the groin. According to a report, Smith's wife said he shoved her and was swinging at her when she kicked at him in response. The report says Smith admitted he'd been drinking whiskey and told deputies he regretted hurting her.

Officer Steve Smith has bonded out of jail. He is currently suspended from Broken Arrow Police Department.
