Muskogee County Commissioners named a new sheriff on Friday. They unanimously voted for Terry Freeman, the current undersheriff.
This came after the former sheriff stepped down for a new job. Former Sheriff Rob Frazier stepped down to be the Fort Gibson Police Chief.
Earlier this week, County Commissioners named the four candidates: former Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson, Lt. Andy Simmons with the Muskogee Police Department, Jessie Everett who has been with OHP for 30 years, and Muskogee County Undersheriff Terry Freeman.

He's a 42-year resident of Muskogee County.
