Woman In Broken Arrow Police Custody After Stolen Vehicle Chase

Police have arrested a woman suspected of stealing a truck from a dealership Wednesday and leading police on a chase moments after.

Investigators call it a strange series of events, which started before noon at Regional Hyundai in Broken Arrow.

Employees told police 43-year-old Kim Trepp was in the service department acting “off,” even talking to flowers, and then things got even more interesting.

Zach Allen, a salesman, told News On 6 he left the key in a truck because an interested buyer was coming in to take a look.

“Then, from there, she was waiting out here at the front,” said Allen. “Like I said, I just pulled up, tried to do my job, tried to do my duty. The next you know, she had other plans."

Police said Trepp drove into Tulsa, and OnStar tracked her near 61st and Memorial, where Audrey Nutt told News On 6 the stolen truck hit her SUV from the front.

The 75-year-old was shaken up and should be OK.

"The police were here fast, and I had two people that helped because I was scared," said Nutt.

Police said after a short chase, Trepp went back into Broken Arrow and surrendered, just a mile from the dealership.

Officer Chris Walker happened to be in the area.

"It was a quarter-ton truck,” said Walker. “The speeds didn't seem too outrageous, but still, any minor collision at 40 miles an hour can have injuries."

Those involved in the ordeal said they're glad no one was hurt and the truck can still be sold, but they're still wondering what the suspect was thinking.

"Once we found it, it had a bunch of stuff packed in it,” said Allen. “So, she was taking a little road trip."

Trepp faces a larceny charge, but other charges could be filed.

Investigators are looking into whether Trepp was under the influence of anything and whether anyone else was involved in the crime.
