Tulsa Police are trying to learn what led up to a shooting that sent a woman to the hospital near 81st Street and Sheridan.

Police said a woman was sitting at a table in her home when a bullet came through her sliding glass door and hit her in the head.

This happened around 11:40 p.m. Monday night.

Officers are working to figure out if this was a random shooting or if the woman was targeted.

They said when they got there — the woman who’s in her 40’s — was already inside the ambulance getting ready to be transported to the hospital.

The woman told police she was sitting inside when the bullet struck her in the head and then struck the wall across the room.

Officers found two other bullet holes outside of the house and others in the fence.

Officers said the woman’s house backs up to 81st Street, and it appears the shots came from the street and went though her wood privacy fence.

Police said they believe the person, or people, were walking when the shots were fired because of the placement of the bullet holes on the fence.

Police are asking anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. You can remain anonymous.
