Across the country, states are taking different approaches to re-opening as federal physical distancing guidelines have now expired.

At least 35 states are reopening some businesses Friday, and most of them are requiring that everyone continues to practice physical distancing.

But in Michigan the governor is extending the closure of bars, theaters, and casinos through May 28th after nearly 120 people died from the virus in a day.

Texas reported its largest single day toll with 50 deaths Thursday. But Governor Greg Abbott is defending his move to reopen some businesses.

Starting Friday, Texas Restaurants, malls and movie theaters can operate at 25 percent capacity.

"The strategies we are using to open up the state of Texas and the way that we are meets doctor approval,” said Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Arkansas' Governor will decide Friday if, and when, salons can reopen; right now, the state's plan is for gyms to reopen next week and restaurants on May 11th.
