Tulsa Bar Reopened At Midnight After State Entered Phase 2 Of Reopening

Happening Friday, Oklahoma is entering phase 2 of the state's reopening plan.

This means weddings, funerals, and bars are now able to restart.

The owner of Lot 6, Vanessa Somerville, said she wanted to open at midnight to welcome back some of the bar's regulars.

The bar will reopen for normal hours Friday afternoon and customers will see fewer barstools, signage reminding people about social distancing, and hand sanitizer at all major touchpoint, such as the front door and bar.

Somerville said it's a relief to get back to work.

"I've been closed for two months. This is my sole source of income right now, and I haven't had income for two months" said Somerville. "There's nothing worse than knowing your people can't earn money to put food on their own table."

Somerville said she applied for and received small business government grants to keep the business afloat.
