For the first time in weeks, funerals will also be able to resume Friday.

Joe Moore, the owner of Moore and Fitzgerald Funeral Service said they are ready for phase 2 because the purpose of a funeral home is allowing large groups of families to gather to provide closure; they haven't been able to do that in a while.

They closed their doors in the end of March when the the Mayor made the executive order, putting a stop to funerals services at Moore, but just two weeks ago they were allowed to have gatherings of up to ten people.

With phase 2, up to 50 people will be allowed to gather inside.

Moore said it's been difficult for families and staff members because they couldn't provide the grief support and closure families needed for the past month.

He said the more people allowed inside, the better it is for families to grieve.

Moore said they will continue to practice social distancing.

The staff were also wearing a mask, so they still will be taking extra precautions during phase 2 of the state's reopening.
