Thoreau Demonstration Academy To Reopen Wednesday After Sewage Issue

Tulsa Public Schools said Thoreau Demonstration Academy near 71st Street and Memorial is closed Tuesday and classes are canceled.

The district said some pipes collapsed in the sewage system, and the building won't have any useable water.

TPS later posted that pipes are repaired, and the school will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 15.

"We are proud of our team for working throughout the night to minimize disruption to the school week. All other schools and district buildings will also be open as usual," a school spokesperson said.
