TULSA, Okla. - A 15-year-old is in jail accused of murder after turning himself in to police, and investigators think the shooting may be gang-related.
Documents said a witness told police the suspect, Kayne Pettie and the victim, Reginald Phillips, were in rival gangs and had been fighting before the shooting.
The shooting happened just after 6 p.m. Tuesday near 56th Street North and MLK.
Documents said officers nearby heard gunshots and later found 17-year-old Reginald Phillips lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers said he was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Documents said a witness told police Pettie chased down Phillips and shot him several times. It said the witness said they've known Pettie and said he's a member of the Hoover Crips.
Police said Pettie has two juvenile felony convictions.
News On 6 doesn't typically identify underage suspects, but Pettie is being charged as an adult for first-degree murder.
