JENKS, Okla. - A new family-oriented development called Melody Lane is coming to Main Street in Jenks.
The city revitalization project includes sports training, the city’s first brewery, a gathering space and more.
The 52- thousand square foot shopping center along Main Street in Jenks has been struggling for years. City Councilor Kaye Lynn said this city needs revitalization and a place for families to hang out.
Red Dog Construction Developer Josh McFarland said he saw that need and immediately got to work on filling the gap.
“We bought this building two months ago and we’ve had a lot of progress since then,” McFarland said. “We are already full of tenants, there’s no room left to fill.”
He said he’s excited to see his dream become a reality, especially in such a short period of time.
“Our biggest needs in this city are areas for families to meet up, our biggest goal is kids. We wanted it to be kid friendly and family friendly across the board,” McFarland said.
A sports training center, A martial arts gym, Jenks’ first brewery, and more are signed on and moving in over the next few weeks and months.
Lynn said Melody Lane fills the void this city had when it came to gathering spaces. Lynn said she centered her campaign around bringing something like this to town and is happy that only a year into her time in office she can see fulfill her promise.
Sports armory owner Jeff Pace’s business will focus on soccer, baseball, and softball training. He said being in the heart of Jenks America is the perfect spot for him.
“When you are able to put things on paper to reality you can get a high from that stuff,” Pace said.
The Sports Armory will have a soft opening June 15th and McFarland said within the next 3-4 months the rest of this plaza should be opening as well.
