Brookside Dispensary Burglarized, Employees Say

Business owners in Brookside are cleaning up after people vandalized and looted several businesses as Sunday’s protest wrapped up.

Employees at Treehouse Dispensary said someone broke in and cleaned them out. They even broke into their safe.

It happened overnight, and the employees said they showed up to find glass shattered outside their back door.

They said the shopping center does have surveillance video, and they’re watching to see where the thief might be but they believe the person was a protester or someone using the protest as a ploy to break in. 

The shop’s workers said their parents own the place, and they’re frustrated for them knowing they put a lot of work and money into their business. 

Crystal Smith said “Somebody just take from you that fast, and what can you do? We just have to pray and rebuild from here on out.”
