OSBI Investigating Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting In Poteau

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into a deadly officer-involved shooting of a woman in Poteau.

Police responded to a domestic disturbance around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. According to police, when officers arrived they told Mary Lawrence to drop a knife in her hand, but she ran toward the homeowner with it. Police say that is when the officer shot her.

Lawrence died at the scene. The officer is on administrative leave as OSBI Investigates.
