More Stillwater businesses are shutting down again as Payne County sees a surge in COVID-19 cases.
The Payne County Health Department said it has not forced any businesses to close in Stillwater, but said that those who are closing are doing so out of caution.
Hideaway is one of several Stillwater businesses to close its doors after a spike in COVID-19 cases. General Manager Stephanie Dermer said they are ready to return to normal, but they have a lot of work to do before that can happen. Hideaway closed on Thursday after learning an employee had tested positive for the virus, and every employee who came in contact with their co-worker was tested as well.
Dermer said, "it impacts every person's life here and we just try to do our part and be transparent and honest to support the community."
The Dupree Sports and the Stonewall Tavern are among other businesses that have temporarily closed their doors.
