Hundreds of people are gathering in Tulsa’s Historic Greenwood District to commemorate Juneteenth.

Outdoor events started at 11 a.m. and will go until 10 p.m. Friday.

There are all kinds of activities for all ages.

Along with food trucks, demonstrations, and a kid's zone there are dozens of hand washing stations, hand sanitizer dispensers, and signs reminding people to wear masks and stay at least six-feet apart.

Reverend Al Sharpton is scheduled to speak on Friday as well.

This event is organized by many groups who say our community needs to unite now more than ever.

Their goal is to raise awareness and work together to create positive change.
