Tulsa Artist Seeks Charges Against Mayoral Candidate

Local artist Laura Voth is claiming Tulsa business owner and mayoral candidate Ricco Wright touched her inappropriately without consent in 2018.

“The reason why I’m here is because I do feel a responsibility to tell Tulsa about an incident that happened between myself and Dr. Ricco Wright, who is running for mayor in our city right now,” said Voth.

Voth first filed a police report in December 2018 when the incident happened but declined to press charges. However, Voth met with detectives last week and is now seeking charges.

Tulsa Police confirmed to News On 6 an investigation is active. Police have not had contact with Wright yet.

A spokeswoman for Wright’s campaign declined to comment but did confirm the two have worked together in the past.
