OU To Require Individuals To Wear Face Masks While On Its Campuses

The University of Oklahoma is requiring all individuals to wear a face mask while at its campuses during the fall.

The University of Oklahoma is requiring all individuals to wear a face mask while at its campuses during the fall.

They must wear fabric or disposable surgical-style masks that cover their nose and mouth. Bandanas and scarfs are not acceptable.

All people will be required to wear a mask while indoors or when they are outdoors on campus and social distancing of at least six feet is not possible at the Norman campus, the OU-Tulsa campus and at the Health Sciences Center campus in Oklahoma City.

Masks must be worn by all passengers in University-provided transportation such as campus shuttles.

Individuals may remove masks only if they are in their enclosed private workspace with no one else present or in their dorm room.

The university will make masks available to students.

Students may remove masks when masks when inside university facilities only when alone in an enclosed room and while participating in activities where a face mask cannot be practically worn, such as eating and drinking or playing a musical instrument or singing as part of an academic assignment.

Students will not been required to wear masks int heir dorm rooms but are strongly encouraged to do so.
