One teenager died and another teenager was injured after a rollover accident Saturday morning.
The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. near the intersection of Covell Road and Indian Meridian in Luther.
According to OHP, the teenagers were traveling on Covell Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.
The vehicle veered off the roadway and rolled over several times before landing upright on its wheels.
The driver, a 17-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle while the passenger, a 17-year-old female, remained in the vehicle.
The male was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner. The female was transported to OU Medical Center in Edmond with her parents where she was treated and released for arm injuries.
The identities of both teenagers have not been released.
Luther Public Schools Superintendent Barry Gunn confirmed in a letter posted to the school district's Facebook page Saturday afternoon that the deadly accident involved two Luther Public School students.
"Luther Public Schools is deeply saddened at the loss of one of our students and the injury of another earlier today," Gunn wrote. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and all those impacted by those tragedies."
