The City of Owasso said it plans to expand its downtown parking for the new Redbud Festival Park, which had its grand opening Thursday night.

The Anchor Stone company in Owasso bought and donated property just south of the park to build a parking lot.

Recreation director Larry Langford said they're also renovating and expanding the Old Central building parking lot for park visitors to use.

The city said it will work with new businesses that come in and create more parking for those shops.

"We want to remove those obstacles. We want to give everyone that wants the opportunity to come down to come down," said Langford.

Langford said if you can't find a spot downtown, people are allowed to park at the school district's transportation building.
