U.S. Attorney Charges Tulsa Father After State Dismisses Charges Due To Supreme Court Ruling

U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma has charged Dustin Dennis with felony child neglect.

U.S. Attorney Trent Shores' office says Dustin Dennis is charged with felony child neglect.

Prosecutors say Dennis fell asleep last month, and his two children, Ryan and Teagan climbed into his pickup, and died in the heat.

Tulsa Prosecutors had charged Dennis with second degree murder, but dismissed the charges after the U.S. Supreme Court's recent ruling on tribal reservations.

That's because the children were Cherokee citizens, and they died on the Creek Nation's Reservation.
