Man Dies After Being Hit By Volvo Semi On I-44

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers say a man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle overnight near Interstate 44 and Highway 75.

According to OHP, the accident happened just before midnight in front of the car dealerships near the Arkansas River.

Troopers says the driver of a Volvo Semi was heading east when a pedestrian was trying to walk across the interstate. The driver struck the pedestrian.

Investigators have identified the victim as 47-year-old Shane Pittser from Kellyville. Pittser was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers say there were two other people inside the vehicle but neither one of them were hurt. 

Parts of I-44 were shut down while Troopers investigated.
