OHP Reports Officer-Involved Crash In LeFlore County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a collision just south of Poteau in LeFlore County involving a Panama Police Department unit and a driver who was suspected to be under the influence of marijuana.

OHP said a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by 35-year-old Billy Smith ran through a stop sign and hit a truck driven by Panama Police Officer Todd Adkins.

Smith was transported to St. Francis hospital in serious condition and Officer Adkins was not hurt.
