2 Downtown Tulsa Construction Projects On Track To Be Completed

There are two big projects right across from each other on Main Street in downtown Tulsa, and one is just months from being finished.

The Davenport Lofts is the tower under construction near the north leg of the IDL, and it will include 32 condominiums and mixed-use space on the bottom floor.

Co-owner Jeff Weaver says crews are more than halfway done with work on the outside of the building, and he expects it to be finished in the spring.

News On 6 asked Weaver what inspired him to build here, and he said he and his wife were empty-nesters; so, they sold their house and moved downtown but they still wanted a place they could own.

"There's no place to buy, so we decided to build it ourselves, and I've got a background in that a little bit. So, we moved forward," Weaver said.

Across the street, leaders with the OKPOP museum say they're working on the second floor of the building right now.

They say the project is still on schedule to be finished sometime next year.
