The American Athletic Conference has released their plan for fall sports after unanimous approval from the Board of Directors.
The 12 schools in the American Conference, which includes the University of Tulsa, will play a regular conference season in football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s cross country and women’s cross country. Football, soccer and volleyball will be capped by conference championships.
This plan comes after consultation with the conference’s COVID-19 Medical Advisory Group, athletic directors and senior women administrators.
For football, the plan said conference competition will begin September 19 and the teams will play 8 games on the originally scheduled dates. Nonconference games can be played at the discretion of each school and will have to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols.
