Broken Arrow Public School board members will hold an in-person meeting at the Education Service Center.
Monday night's meeting could take a while as the board has to vote on more than 40 items and take public comment. The school board meeting comes three days after the district decided to push back the start of the school year by two weeks with a new start date of September 3rd.
The board will vote to accept and approve three significant items including buying 400 webcams for teachers with the idea that teachers can use the cameras to record and upload lessons onto various platforms so students can see in case of distance learning.
The second item is to accept and approve a renewal agreement between the district and 5-Star Students to provide website and mobile app access to aid in tracking student participation for the school year. Finally, the board will vote to approve or disapprove the purchase of 950 new Chromebooks for BAPS Virtual Academy and elementary students to use for distance learning. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
