Oklahoma’s house democrats disputed Governor Kevin Stitt’s judgement that the state does not need another federal stimulus package.
Governor Stitt said Oklahoma is still focused on spending the $1.2 billion from the CARES Act.
“Before we go to the well and do another $2 trillion bailout, let's make sure we get this money out the door first,” said Stitt.
The Oklahoma House Democratic Caucus sent a letter Monday to all Oklahoma’s congressional delegates.
“We feel we simply cannot let the governor's statement stand as the only assessment of Oklahoma's needs," house minority leader Emily Virgin said in the letter. “We respectfully ask that you ignore the governor's misguided comments and do what is in your power to bring this money home."
