Greenwood Rising will be a new facility that tells the story of the Tulsa Race Massacre, which happened 99 years ago.
It'll be built at the corner of Greenwood and Archer; but due to the pandemic, organizers have decided to hold this groundbreaking virtually.
The decision to build the museum at this location came after negotiations fell apart to build it by the Greenwood Cultural Center.
Tulsa's Hillie Foundation donated this land for the new site.
Organizers now say they are holding a virtual groundbreaking ceremony on Facebook Live next Friday, August 21st at noon.
The event will include several speakers.
The Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission is hosting the groundbreaking.
You will be able to watch the virtual groundbreaking HERE.
