Jenks High School Student National Finalist For 'Doodle For Google' Competition
A Jenks high school student has won the state competition for "Doodle for Google," and is now in the running for the national competition. Voting is taking place now through Friday August 21st., and you can help one of Oklahoma's Own by voting for Madhan's doodle HERE and then going to the Grades 8-9 option and clicking on Oklahoma.
Sand Springs Virtual Academy Deadline
Monday is the last day to register your student for Sand Springs virtual academy or blended learning.

OSU's McKnight Center Suspends Performances Until January 2021
Oklahoma State University's McKnight Center announced it is suspending performances until January 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the performances that were scheduled for fall 2020 have been rescheduled; however, officials said some events were canceled but will likely be rescheduled in the future. Gathering Place Joins Tulsa Police To Host Back-To-School Supply Drive
The Gathering Place is partnering with Tulsa Police Department and Tulsa Community Foundation to host a Back to School Supply Drive for Tulsa County elementary students. The event is Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. but officials say is you can't attend and would still like to support the program you can find more ways to help at the Tulsa Community Foundation's website.

Tulsa Housing Authority Launches Emergency Rent Assistance Program
The Tulsa Housing Authority is launching a new program to help Tulsa County residents struggling to pay their rent. A household will be eligible for up to three months of past due rent, for a maximum of $3,000. Applicants should provide a copy of their lease, pay stubs, and a letter from their landlord stating that they are behind on their rent and for which months the rent is past due.Applications will be available starting next Monday and will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 4, 2020.
