Veteran Salute: Gordon Wheeler

Gordon Wheeler served 22 years in the Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran who spends his time volunteering for something good.

News On 6 is recognizing veterans across Green Country who are making a difference in their communities.

Gordon Wheeler served 22 years in the Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran. Since retiring, he has traveled many miles, volunteering his time working with Veterans and Veterans Spouses helping them file claims for VA benefits.

Wheeler is a member of VFW Post 9969 and American Legion Post 73 in Del City. He has volunteered for more than 15 years at Veterans Corners in Norman.

This past spring, Gordon and his wife Bonnie were named ‘Veterans Family of the Year’ by the Oklahoma Veterans Council.
