Norman city leaders say they are not planning an official response after large groups of unmasked University of Oklahoma students gathered to tailgate off campus.

A reporter for the Norman Transcript first posted a video of the party to Twitter ahead of Saturday's game.

While a spokesperson for the city says officials are not planning a response, she pointed out that all house parties are required to follow city ordinances. She says the mask ordinance requires masks to be worn in areas of public accommodations.

Cleveland County was announced as one of three COVID-19 hotspots around the metro.

A typical game day in Norman draws over 100,000 people to campus. In response to the pandemic, the university prohibited tailgating on campus grounds.

The City of Norman voted to limit bar and restaurant capacity to 75% on game days until two the next morning.

Campus Corner also requires guests to wear a mask. Restaurants and bars are set up for outdoor dining
