Starting this week, instead of waiting until November, the Salvation Army has already started ringing some of their bells, as the organization looks to offset some of the impacts from COVID-19.
The health risks of close contact and a national coin shortage are expected to reduce collections by up to 50 percent.
Last year $126 million was raised with about 30 thousand of their red kettles.
