Tulsa United Way Hosts Non-Profit Information Webinar

The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing local non-profits to change the way they serve those in need. 

On Friday, the Tulsa Area United Way will host a virtual presentation explaining how these non-profits are adapting to help those in the community.

Right now, many families in Tulsa County are struggling to pay for food, rent, and other basic needs. Some of them might not know where to go or what to do to get help. The point of Friday's webinar is to help those families and learn more about the non-profit organizations available to help.

The Tulsa Area United Way works with 59 agencies in the Tulsa area, but only five will speak Friday, including the YMCA and City of Tulsa Housing.

Alison Anthony, the CEO of the Tulsa Area United Way, said raising enough money to help people out has been a bit of challenge not only for them but for their partners and donors as well.

"Sadly, we're seeing many of our former donors need help, which is why we're hosting programs like this: to get out to a broad audience information about how to get help for your neighbors and family members, but also you may be needing help yourself for the first time," said Anthony.
