Police Arrest Man Involved In Early Morning Chase

Tulsa police are on the scene of a chase that ended near 21st Street and Memorial Drive. Police said they have arrested one man who led them on a short chase that ended in a dead end field.

Tulsa police arrested a man Friday morning after a car chase ended in the assault of a TPD officer.

Authorities say the suspect, Damien Sligar was seen speeding around 15th Street and Memorial Drive. When officers tried to pull him over, he drove off to a field near 86th East Avenue and 21st Street.

Sligar exited his car and ran into the field, when the officer caught up to him, they failed to deploy their tasers.

According to authorities, Sligar assaulted the officer and ran off on foot before eventually being caught by the K9 officer.

Sligar was taken to the hospital to be treated for dog bites.

Officers charged Sligar with several offenses including driving without a license, driving without insurance, assaulting an officer, and a felony warrant out of Rogers County.
